Interestingly, I’ve been experiencing the more negative qualities of Neptune as this planet envelops and fogs Jupiter (exact on April 12th, 2022). For those of you who’ve also been getting the more negative dose of Neptune’s significations, I want to give voice to that and explain more.
While Neptune is about oneness, dreams, and awe, it’s also just as much about delusion, loss, mourning, and things not being clear.
These more negative associations could be impacting your Pisces house as well as the house that has Sagittarius on the cusp (Jupiter-ruled).
You might be feeling more of these negative impacts of Neptune, for instance, if you have Jupiter in a sign of its detriment or fall (Jupiter in Virgo or Gemini).
Or, if you have late Aquarius planets, the Mars Saturn conjunction that is just now separating could be taking over the show and making things more difficult for you, blurring any positives that Jupiter and Neptune might bring.
The same could be said for Venus when Venus comes along to conjoin Neptune. If you have Venus in Virgo especially, instead of experiencing divine oneness and cosmic love that Neptune often brings, it might bring disappointment, a sense of loss, or even a yearning for what cannot be had.
As Jupiter and Venus (and other planets) pass over Neptune and if Neptune is strongly opposing other planets in your natal chart, don’t necessarily expect bliss and euphoria.
Things happen with precise and divine timing. Sometimes there’s a time for bliss and happiness, which will be reflected by the transits to your personal chart, and sometimes it’s a time for grief, sadness, and loss. Times like these can indicate that it’s also a time to seek help.
Especially if delusion is strong with this transit, it could be time for an intervention. Astrology timing doesn’t mean we passively accept what’s happening. We still have agency. We can take action to make things better; To bring about justice; To help others; and to help ourselves.
Astrology simply reflects the human experience in archetypal form that is unique to our souls (which can be found in the birth chart). Some people call this our karma. But it doesn’t mean we have to sit back and just watch the show.
Sure, if we can see the world and the kinds of fortunes or misfortunes that come to us through a lens of equanimity, we will suffer less. However, there’s a fine line between approaching life with equanimity and spiritually bypassing our experiences.
Part of being human is to experience the range of emotions that come with it. Emotions are the spice of life. And I pray that we can be fully present and show up for ourselves for whatever feeling arises because then we are fully alive and vibrant.
If we can have the courage to feel the pain when the pain is raw, knowing it won’t kill us, then we can have the capacity to feel the joy, when ecstatic states visit us. While being fully emerged in these experiences, in our bodies, in the physiology that the world is constantly imprinting upon, we can also hone an outlook of equanimity, which means not attaching our wellbeing to external outcomes and not succumbing to cravings nor avoiding aversions out of fear.
This transit could bring a mixed bag. For instance, I’ve experienced sadness and longing for that which I no longer have, but I’ve also had quiet moments of contentment, hope, peace, and faith.
Perhaps you too have experienced the ups and downs of this Jupiter Neptune aspect and have experienced moments of joy but also loss; moments of dreams coming true but also delusions; moments of forgiveness but also sadness.
Make room for all of these moments, for they are friends with each other, and part of the messy and divine web that we call life.
